Through the hardship of the Great Depression.
Wood Brothers began their thriving business through the hardship of the Great Depression. F.W. Wood had just begun a simple sandwich shop on Lady Street in downtown Columbia, when he met his future wife, Ivy. With food products being in low supply due to government rationing he began making his own mayonnaise to use in his shop.
Today, almost 70 years later, F.W. Wood’s business is still around and is run by his two sons Warren and Doug who are President and the Vice president and now grandsons Chip and Guy, our third generation to continue on the family-owned and operated business.
