Introduction
Wood Brothers began their thriving business through the hardship of the Great Depression. F.W. Wood had just begun a simple sandwich shop on Lady Street in downtown Columbia, when he met his future wife, Ivy. With food products being in low supply due to government rationing he began making his own mayonnaise to use in his shop. Today, almost 70 years later, F.W. Wood’s business is still around and operated by his two sons Warren and Doug who are President and the Vice president and now grandsons Chip and Guy, our third generation to continue on the family-owned and operated business.
Our family is proud to say that we have some customers that we’ve been providing product for over 40 years. We are happy to be the silent flavors in well-known chicken salads and pimento cheese, and are grateful that our product makes your product the best it can be. That is why we keep F.W. Wood’s humble beginnings in our heart as we make every product. We still remain small enough to custom pack and deliver small quantities, but continue to grow as our family does to meet larger supply needs, even up to full trailer loads of product. Oh, and by the way, we still serve “Party Punch” locally as a carryover from F. W. Wood’s small sandwich shop.
